WRITTEN TYCOON X QUIET KITTEN

PRECOCIOUS. POWERFUL. PRE-EMINENT.

WHY WE LIKED THIS FILLY

This Written Tycoon filly was a major coup for us here.

She was purchased at the Magic Millions sales in Gold Coast.

She hosts a lucrative and active pedigree which has had both huge Australian and International Success.

I urge you to look at this filly's pedigree page and then review the information regards to the breeder and his strategy below.

This filly presents a very serious opportunity and it would be worth your while to read a little further.

There was a colossal amount of homework and study conducted prior to securing this filly's half brother at the sales 9 months ago.

This work has been well rewarded with the colt (named Regal Zeus) having exceptional ability.

A Filly Provides Good Residual Value - A Dangerous Assumption!

There is much communication out there stating that it is far more worthwhile and safer to buy a filly over a colt - due to residual value.

This is Only half true!.

The only way to make serious money breeding, is through the sale of what they call a 'Book 1 yearling'.

This is a yearling that qualifies to be promoted in 'Book 1' at the top yearling sales such as Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Inglis Premier, Inglis Easter Yearling sales etc.

Over 90% of all money made in breeding is through Book 1 sales.

And this covers less than 3% of all the yearlings offered per calendar year.

Only a mare of the quality capable of breeding a Book 1 yearling is a serious investment.

As you read a little further, you will learn why this very successful breeder invested so heavily in this family and why we have followed his path to secure our colt and this filly.

"If its all about type, then why are all the sales catalogues full of pedigree tables and not photos to choose?

- Because the Blood matters"

Bart Cummings

   Hall Of Fame Trainer

When i was working in the Stables at Randwick quite a long time ago...

I still remember a conversation I had with Legend Trainer Bart Cummings.

He said to me, "Mark, If you want to get a good horse, make sure you focus heavily on the Damside and see what proportions of winners the family produced.

A mare from a good family matched with a Champion Sire will dramatically increase your chances of a Top-line Offspring."

If you purchase a car with the intent of going fast.... what is the primary asset you will focus on?

Will it be the body of the car, Aerodynamics? Brand? Condition of the car?

Obviously it would be the Engine.

No point having a great exterior if you have a Hyundai Engine under your bonnet.

However, you wouldn't mind a few scratches and have a Ferrari cooking on the inside.

Forgive me for usage of such a crude example.

However, nothing could be closer to the truth when it comes to racing.

Of course you cannot win a race with a Ferrari if it has flat tires or a broken axle.

But trust me....

If you are truly looking to find the next champion, you must have genetics and family line to produce that strong heart and engine.

Because Blood matters!

This is a fact that repeats itself year after year.

This filly is the Ferrari.

Let me now show why.

“A big, long, rangy horse with great skin,” is how Begg described the bold chestnut, years later still in awe of a unique trait, his skin so healthy that he never grew a winter coat.

“And, now when I look at the Written Tycoon progeny, the ones I want are those with that same great coat,” he said.

  • First foal sold for $450,000 to Peter Moody (Trainer of Glenfiddich)

  • We bought second yearling 'Regal Zeus' and he is a very serious colt (see below)

Quiet Kitten's father was Kitten's Joy.

This is a very big deal.

He was a phenomenal racehorse being the Champion US Racehorse in 2004.

He then went on to become Champion Sire in the U.S

Kitten's Joy was the Champion U.S Sire of the Turf for 5 years consecutively (2013-2018).

He is considered one of the Greatest influences in US Turf racing since legendary Northern Dancer.

To have Kitten's Joy bolstered as Damsire to 1st Dam Quiet Kitten, you can understand value this brings to the family.

The probability of receiving a quality Offspring through a mating with a key Northern Dancer influenced Sire is exponentially increased.

As a breeder, a mare of this family line offers so many opportunities as it a such a potent outcross to the Australian thoroughbred population which suffers greatly due to low genetic diversity.

This is a very important point to consider as it will play a very large factor in her popularity and value as a high class breeding prospect in the future.

OUR DAMSIRE - KITTEN'S JOY

  • Champion U.S Sire of Turf - An Amazing 6 years Consecutively 2013 - 2018

  • Race record - 14 Start 9 wins, 4 seconds inc (wins in 2 GP1's, 1 GP2, 4 GP3's)s.

  • Considered one of the greatest influences in US Turf racing since legendary Northern Dancer

  • Immediate Influence Internationally - He was shuttled to UK and Ireland where he became an immediate hit being Top 10 leading Sire in both nations with limited progeny.

Sired GP1 winners every calendar year.

  • Sire of some of the Greatest horses in world - such as Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint winner Bobby’s Kitten, Group 1 Dubai Sheema Classic winner Hawkbill and Roaring Lion, Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes winner Kitten’s Dumplings and Arlington Million winner Real Solution

Kitten's Joy winning GP1 Secretariat Stakes

BACKGROUND - THE COMPLETE STORY!

Let me share some valuable background and mindset of ' pound for pound ' one of the most successful Studs in Australia.

This will also give you complete understanding of what the breeder is doing and what sort of colt we are dealing with here.

Many years ago, astute Breeder Ian Smith purchased a mare called Gainesville (Can) (Afleet {USA}).

This mare has become a significant influence in Australian breeding, chiefly through her daughter Mica's Pride (Bite The Bullet {USA}), the dam of Multiple Group 1 winners Criterion (Sebring) and Comin' Through (Fastnet Rock).

Gainesville had a Listed winning half-sister called Darling Alice (USA) (Northern Flagship {USA})

As you can see on the pedigree table, Darling Alice is the 3rd Dam to our filly.

Ian believed so strongly in this family, that he purchased all her mares, Nothin But A Dream (USA) (First Defence {USA}), Smokin' Alice (USA) (Smoke Glacken {USA}).

This led to immediate success with Smokin' Alice producing Eleven Eleven ($2,862,470) and War Memorial & Nothin But A Dream producing Glenfiddich (now a Sire at Aquis Stud).

This is one of the most potent family lines current in Australia.

Ian is now actively purchasing all mares of next generation Blue hen mare Quiet Alice 2nd Dam to our filly, whom has bred champion after champion.

He has been successful in securing Quiet Kitten (our dam) and Piacenza.

The first foal from our dam Quiet Kitten (yet to race) was purchased for $450,000 by Peter Moody, the trainer of Glenfiddich.

(you can understand why Peter Moody has paid such a sum)

The first foal of Piacenza was sold at 2022 Easter Yearling sales for $400,000 to Annabel Neasham.

Our colt is the second foal of Quiet Kitten through Champion Sire Zoustar.

I think this should now provide some clarity of the relative value and prospects related to this filly.

REGAL ZEUS - Our Filly's Half Brother

  • Progress Update

Our colt has done a tremendous job breaking in as you will evidence in the video provided.

  • In his first preparation, he was too strong for progeny of his age and was run against 3YO's . Listen to Lenny Russo's audio to me after his gallop against a smart 3YO from stable.

  • Lenny Russo's Report >> Click Here<<
  • Regal Zeus runs and wins jump out against a strong group of 3YO's (inc Lady Di Di and Wilbury) in a time 2 seconds faster/ 12 lengths faster than any 2YO jump outs this day (watch video). Listen to trainer John McArdle's report (below). He will be aimed at Blue Diamond and Millenium as first targets.

  • John Mc'Ardle Report >> Click Here<<
  • Regal Zeus is the first runner from Quiet Kitten - which lights up the page and makes our filly an incredibly valuable asset and investment. If the sales were a few days after the jump out - no question our filly would have sold in 500k range from a conservative point of view.

To put it into perspective it was over a second quicker (6 lengths faster) than Krakarib (GP3 Maribyrnong Plate winner)

  • Krakarib's Jumpout 20 Jan >> Click Here<<
  • N.B Just as i am writing this - Eleven Eleven ran a very unlucky second in $1million MM Syndicate and now has accrued well over $3 million in prozemoney

  • Zoustar x Quiet Kitten

    Jumpout 18 Jan 2023

    THE INSPECTION

    Notes Taken At Sale

Big Long Rangy filly which carries same skin and coat as her father.

All the great progeny of Written Tycoon share this quality about them.

Great length of rein, plenty of scope and stands over a lot of ground

    Excellent bone with ideal conformation

    1. Well Balanced, Attractive, Covers good ground

    2. Fabulous Walker - Purposeful and fluid

    3. Lovely Head

    4. Tremendous Demeaner - Lovely , Quiet, Relaxed

Other great features I noted were good barrel, strong bone and beautifully angled shoulder set.

We measured her windpipe. Airways is a very important characteristic for a racehorse. Average is 2.0. This filly measured 3.0!

This filly has the Conformation and Commercial pedigree to be very competitive in Metropolitan / Black-Type Races

    Conformation

To identify key intended genetic traits passed through to prospect and confirm soundness

  •   Well Set Wither and Closed Shoulders. Wither sitting further backwards over the girth allowing longer and more angled shoulder blade which will allow this filly to have much longer stride (See below)

  •   Airways - Throat Index = 3.0. A racehorse needs abundant fuel / oxygen to maintain speed in a race. It is a long distance between nostrils and lungs. As such it is a huge advantage to have large airways to get fuel to the target efficiently. Average windpipe of horse measures a score of 2.0. Our filly measured 3.0. Huge Plus.

  •   Large Prime Movers Fore and Hind. This filly has the rare qualites of possessing a large Sloping shoulder blade as well as well developed pelvis and femur (hind quarters). This is rare. The benefit of this feature is that this filly should acquire a very powerful burst of acceleration (large pelvis and femur) and because of her angled shoulder - should be able to maintain this speed over further distance (larger stride / efficiency ++)

  • STEP 2: It's extremely important that when you go and look at your prospect that you

can observe some of these dominant traits actually being present in the horse.

You want to find a horse that's balanced biomechanically.

FACT : When you go to a sale over 70% of horses are unbalanced!

    In Summary

  • Bred through lucrative and active pedigree which has had both huge Australian and International Success

  • Textbook Conformation - Massive Fore and Hind Prime Movers for Power and efficiency ++

  • Massive Airways - Throat Index of 3.0 (Average being 2.0)

  • Well Set Wither and Closed ShouldersLonger and more angled shoulder blade allowing the filly to have a much longer stride - thus allowing her to be able to accelerate at top speed for longer.)

  • Huge Investment Opportunity - Prior to Filly being purchased, we had the intel regards Regal Zeus

  • Breeder immediately bought back 20% in this filly.

  • Thank you for your time to review our filly.

As mentioned from the beginning, the intent was to provide to a No B.S all-inclusive report of this filly we have on offer.

This is not a 'She's got a great overstep, lovely mover, strong hind ' type of report.... like we all see on every offer out there.

I wanted to give you Everything I've got - so you can step into the shoes of a professional and see in detail what great Breeders, Investors, horseman and trainers such as Peter Moody and Annabel Neasham see.

There is nothing to hide with this filly!

We have plenty of Intel regards to the future direction of this family through our colt - something not privy to the outside.

This filly is the product of a huge amount of reasearch, gut instinct and courage from a highly astute and successful breeder.

She is a extremely valuable, wonderfully conformed filly which is bred to be of the highest class.
